<p>Does anyone know of a good reliable quite fan?</p>
<p>I’m looking for a new one for my dorm room and i really don’t want something noisy like i had last year (had to give it away as there was no room in vehical) and i have a large dislike of boxfans.</p>
<p>You could get a Dyson air multiplier, but they’re like $300 for the small tabletop ones. It’s the only “good reliable quiet” fan I know of.</p>
<p>I don’t know of any other really quiet fans. Most fans I’ve had are pretty loud. </p>
<p>You might have to go searching around to see if you can find a decently quiet one.</p>

Pick a price point and buy the best within that limit.
Vacuuming the filter regularly helps extend the life of the motor.</p>
<p>Vornados are quiet. They can be pricey too ($75 - $100) but I found one at Costco for much less.</p>
<p>I second vornados, I bought two fourteen years ago and they still work great.</p>
