<p>Other stuff: Led a Hurricane Katrina project through FBLA that appeared in newspapers and the state-wide news channel, will take project to nationals next year. Have won a silver medal with honors for a piano competition from a widely recognized academy. Uncle is a Berkeley alumni. Have taken a CTY chemistry course at the University of Washington in 9th grade.</p>

<p>Being tree is a hell of a lot harder than just getting into Stanford. You have to go through an arduous week-long winnowing process and perform major stunts, which have included:

  • setting yourself on fire
  • getting hit by the (university) President’s car
  • getting shot at
  • many many forms of nudity
  • parachuting from Hoover tower
  • not showering or sleeping
  • disrupting everything
  • endorsements from Nobel laureates
    et cetera…</p>

<p>Reasonable chance, although much of what you state has little value (uncle, whether your school was ranked, etc.).</p>

<p>If your SAT scores improve with age, then you should score very highly. Getting 85th percentile in junior high is impressive.</p>

<p>Keep up --and raise-- your GPA.</p>
