Faset

Is it obligatory to attend FASET? And do I need to stay in the dorms or can I sleep at home and come back in the morning?

You don't have to attend, but most people will. This is a chance to learn a lot about how to get along as a Tech student, things to do, where to go, how to be efficient, etc. Everyone will assume that you went to FASET and think you should have learned things there.

Most people consider FASET a fun chance to meet other people. Here's a time for you to sleep away at college and not be at home.

To be honest, a lot of the FASET lectures put me and my mom to sleep. Just do what you want, and try to learn something about what the campus has to offer.

P.S. If they put you up in the East dorms just run...lol. They blow. BAD.

Alright thanks guys. Do i need to sleep in the dorms or can i sleep at home then come back in the morning?

Just sleep in the dorms.

Will they have our AP scores by the first FASET dates? They say bring "your copy of any AP Credit information" - I'm assuming this means the scores College Board sent us from previous years, but what about this year's scores?

They should have your scores by FASET 1. Take your past score reports, but you shouldn't need them.

AP scores come out July 1 and the first FASET isnt unitl the middle of July.

What if I'm taking college courses this summer? Idk if I'll get my grades until the end of summer or something..

Just make sure a transcript with your final grades for the college courses is sent to the REGISTRAR. I sent mine to Undergraduate Admissions instead of the Registrar, which made the second day of FASET not a whole lot of fun.

They might have changed this. This is a quote straight from the FASET booklet they sent out recently:

Students should make sure that their current test scores and transcripts have been sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admission and bring a paper copy of them to FASET

Always, always, always call first or visit in person with anything that has to do with registration, graduation, or payment (basically, anything that could potentially involve the Bursar or Registrar).

Bursar: 404-894-4618
Registrar: 404-894-4150

^

Agreed. Better to call now than to waste half a day running around campus trying to get transfer credit recognized.

But my college courses won't end until July 19th or something, which means I probably won't receive my transcript until the end of July. I know it shouldn't matter too much for the HIST 2112 that I'm taking this summer, but I'm also taking Calc I and hope to start on Calc II my freshman year. I also want to attend the first FASET so that I could get the Calc II professor that I want.. but I can't do that without my Calc I credit, right? Oh goodness.

Anyone know what time registration opens tomorrow?

I've heard that it starts at 9 AM.

Anyone else able to register? I keep seeing the "registration is closed" box on Buzzport...

EDIT: It's delayed until 10AM.

Aaaah - I keep on getting this error message:

So now FASET registration is down. Check back later, I guess.

Anyone know when FASET registration will be opened? Anytime soon?
