FASFA and colleges

I filed my fafsa and it gave me an EFC of 500. Five Hundred. I know this is a good thing, but how good it is, I’m not sure. Do colleges (specifically public colleges(even more specifically, Purdue University and University of Washington)) give a lot of need based aid (no loans. I don’t want to mess with loans) to you with these stats?

As other people responded to your other posts regarding Financial aid, you are unlikely to get much aid from public colleges if you are out of state.

Have you run the NPCs at these schools yet? Yes, your EFC is 500, but none of your schools promise to meet aid, and you need to be realistic that any aid package you receive at these OOS schools is going to be made primarily of loans, whether you mess with them or not. Make sure you have a back-up plan.
