Hello-- I am looking for a school on the east coast with a strong philosophy and business program. I also want a fashion minor!!! let me know
I’d start off by googling “colleges with fashion minors”
Wow, that is some awesome advice!! You might want to change your username… happy people don’t act that way.
While I think you felt happy1’s reply was snarky it was actually good advice. Finding schools with strong Philosophy or Business Programs in the NE might be something people could help you with, people who know which schools might offer a Fashion Design minor are going to be rare. If you could search and identify those schools then people might be able to help you identify among those schools which would be best for your given majors. Good luck.
Look into Cornell - it has a program for undergraduate students who want to study fashion design and fashion business management. NYU might also have fashion design and management classes, but I’m not certain. Try to identify colleges that have undergraduate business majors and then see if they also offer courses/majors in fashion design/management. Best of luck!
The New School has philosophy and fashion design. They offer some business-related majors, but most of it is fashion related.
Agree with what was suggested earlier - Philosophy is pretty common, and undergraduate Business is fairly common, but Fashion Design is an outlier. If you really want Fashion Design, start with that and then see what schools also offer Philosophy and Business.
@collegecurious49 maybe Marist in NY?
I did not intend for my answer to be rude – Maybe I needed explain more clearly but I meant that you should start off seeking out the discipline least often found (fashion) at colleges and then work your way back to see what schools that have fashion also have your other areas of interest available. I don’t think it is unreasonable that you start off your own search in that manner. If you have already done this research, it would be helpful if you could share some schools you are interested in as a springboard for other suggestions.
Also it is impossible to give truly meaningful suggestions as you have not included information such as: your GPA/course rigor, standardized test scores, what is affordable, preferred location/size of school etc., home state etc. And in terms of fashion do you want fashion design, fashion marketing, or some other area of fashion? What is your ultimate career goal?
Please recognize that posters come to CC as volunteers in an effort to help people through the college process. Your sarcastic response is not appreciated. Hope others can help you out.
I am deeply sorry if I offended you. I truly thought your comment was of a sarcastic nature. Thank you for your thoughts. @happy1
