Fortunately, I don’t even think many will find the look attractive do hopefully it won’t “catch on.”
Oh dear. I have a fox fur stole hanging in a back closet somewhere. It belonged on DH’s great aunt who was a lady who lunched. It’s horrid. Horrid enough to never wear (besides, in my area I’d probably get assaulted by red paint carrying PETA types), but also horrid/odd enough to make it a novelty I keep.
It is cold here. I am going to be wearing a fox stole today. It doesn’t have a head or tail on it. It’s vintage.
adding: I am wearing it to lunch!
I got a McQueen’s skull scarf for D2 2 or 3 years ago. She used to wear it all the time, but not so much now. I almost bought a cashmere version of it this xmas for myself, but D2 told me that it wasn’t for me.
This thread is keeping me entertained during my lunch time.
Ok, this needs to go. There is no women out there who could look good in this, especially if you are under 5’7" and over 100 lbs.

I have a pair of black linen pants that are similar to those that do look good on me. And I am definitely under 5’7" and over 100lbs. Again, I would urge people not to be so judgmental about pants! So they wouldn’t do anything for you: big deal. The fit of pants is a very individual thing.
I was thinking those full capri-length pants would look good on someone with long legs. In fact they’d probably look good on a lot of women, pretty much the same women who’d be flattered by a full, flowy skirt of the same length.
Front waist pleats, when they fit, are great at minimizing a small tummy bulge. Don’t knock them just because they are currently not in fashion.
Those culottes (post 264) aren’t as ugly as these: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/eileen-fisher-wide-leg-silk-crepe-ankle-pants-regular-petite/4033280?origin=coordinating-4033280-0-5-PP_3-Data_Lab_Recommendo_V2-also_viewed2&recs_type=coordinating&recs_productId=4033280&recs_categoryId=0&recs_productOrder=5&recs_placementId=PP_3&recs_source=Data_Lab_Recommendo_V2&recs_strategy=also_viewed2&recs_referringPageType=item_page
I found culottes very practical as an architect, especially in the summer. You can climb ladders without sweltering, but look reasonably put together too. Things have gotten more casual, and I worry less about it. I do wear capris, no pretense about being fashion forward though.
The culottes from #264 look strange I think because of the super high sandals the model is wearing. It’s makes her feet look so long, like she has a strange, super long ankle.
I could see the ones in 264 looking good on the right person, but not the ones in 267 that are so flowy, esp at the waist.
I’m not ready to say no on the fox stole. Not my taste / style but there are certain people who can carry it off.
I have this quilted winter-white jacket with a rabbit collar and honestly in cold weather - it looks pretty darn good as an alternative to the shiny black quilted down Moncler look or the super-puffy North Face long coat look. It’s another of my resale shop finds

Pizzagirl, if you like warmth of down without extra puffiness and shiny fabric, look at 'S Cube by Max Mara coats. Amazing.
Oh I like both those coats…Pizza’s find and BB suggestion. It has been cold this week and my camel hair coat is in the closet and I’ve been wearing my long down off white coat that makes me look like a snowman (especially with a knit hat pulled low). I figure if my car is going off the road on the ice and into the ditch I’m going to be warm until the wrecker shows up. My boss just laughed when she saw me walk in the door. I’m sure it was a sight to behold.
Momofthreeboys, Europeans will often wear thin down vests or coats under their camel and other wool coats, like this:

Sigh, as much as I love camel hair and cashmere coats, in wet Seattle, a wool coat is not worth the hassle of keeping it dry
I don’t understand all the hate on front pleats. I know it’s out there (in abundance) so I don’t wear them. I weigh 116, but my fat is in my tummy. I think I looked far better in pleated pants, especially the ones that had no zipper, but opened at the size pocket and buttoned on the side. I’m waiting for them to come back
^^^^
They are awful. And with those black booties - what are they thinking? The whole outfit looks so awkward.
Oh those are hideous! What is with the crease? Creases and denim are simply frenemies. Gauchos, palazzo pants, all these things from the '70’s are just determined to come back and haunt us.
Oh dear. Those culottes remind me of my late mother’s golf wear, except hers couldn’t be denim (club rules.)
I swear that while I am alive, no one will make me wear THAT! Adding to my will, “Do not even think of burying my dead body in ‘Le Culotte’ High Waist Gaucho Pants (Robertson).”
