Fashion Semi-Emergency :)

Can I wear the copper color dress I was planning to wear to a wedding tomorrow with sparkly silver strappy sandals?
Copper and silver? A faux pas or okey-dokey? (My mother’s answer would be, “No one will be looking at you. They will be looking at the bride.”) Nonetheless, I’d like some word from the CC fashion mavens.

If it is your only or best option, go with it. Nobody will really care.

However, I don’t personally like copper with silver. I would have chosen strappy brown, black, or neutral sandals instead.

Thanks, soozievt. Just found out that ceremony is outside, on uneven surface, grass and gravel, so guests are being advised to choose footwear accordingly. Reception in a tent with undoubtedly some uneven outdoor-type surfaces. These sandals basically are flats, which is why I was fixating on them. I do have sort of a neutral very light beige sandal, but the heel will sink into the ground. Maybe I will make a trip to DSW and buy a pair of those things that go over the heel so that it doesn’t sink. I’ll wait for other opinions, too.

I try to find a pair of black wedges
No mixing copper and silver together.

Unless you really need a new pair or just want to have fun shopping… don’t run out and buy a new pair. I think copper dress (I suppose it is not covered in “gold” sequins?) and sparkly silver shoes are fine.

Any other options in the closet?

Not covered in any sequins, BB. Thanks! Also just dug up a clutch purse which mixes copper, silver and black, so I think I’m sticking with this.

Having once worn heels at a wedding that turned out to be all of us standing downhill from bride and groom in the grass, I definitely don’t recommend heels! I think copper and silver can look fine together, especially now that you’ve got a purse to tie it all together!

Oprah sez… it is ok if you have a piece to tie it all together:

Can u find skin-tone satin sandals? Satin is usually pretty cheap to buy. Skin-tone goes w anything, so you’ll likely get some further wear out of them.

I don’t think silver & copper really go together, but let’s put the problem in perspective. Since u aren’t the bride, the eyes aren’t going to be on u.

Copper and silver looks great together, to me!

Be comfortable. No one is going to notice your shoes.

Sounds like the clutch ties it all together. Wear the silver shoes and have fun!

The wedding is tomorrow, so no, you do not need to go shopping for a new pair of shoes. And won’t you be seated for the ceremony and the meal? So no one will be looking at your shoes then. By the time the dancing starts, everyone will be too woozy to notice. :))

I think that all metallics blend. Go for it.

“So no one will be looking at your shoes then.”

^^As long as they are not the shoes currently featured here:
