Uh-oh. I did that one. Here’s hoping I was one of the few where it worked.

Well Flossy, I did it once, and it just wasn’t my style. There was a gal at work though who looked darling in that get- up.

I think socks and Birks are fine. If you are wearing Birks (which I do sometimes) you don’t care what anyone thinks anyway! :)

I see a lot of people in Seattle wearing socks and sandals when I visit my family there. That’s not exactly a fashion hub (and my relatives are more the hiker/outdoorsy types!), so I don’t think it matters there as much as it would in NYC or LA.

MOfWC is right: Birks is the only sandal that is meant to be worn with thick wool socks! :)

They are baaaaaaack!
And, fingers crossed, are going away soon.

<a href=“You'll Never Believe What's Back In Style”>You'll Never Believe What's Back In Style;

How dare they do that to a sweet little wallabee!

(I’m looking at the photo of the jacked up one.)

Wallabees are a happy memory for me. Of course, I knit socks that would go perfectly with Birks, too.

I like Wallabee’s, but socks with any kind of sandal are just plain wrong!!!

Gourmetmom, since Birks are wrong to begin with, it is the only sandal that is ok to wear with socks.
even though two wrongs a right do not make… Yoda speak.

Speaking of Birks… Saw a pair of $800 Birks at the SF Saks the other day. Totally forgot who the designer was, so had to google:

http://www.talkshoes.com/19654/givenchy-provides-first-designer-birkenstock-2014/

Givenchy! They should design a line of matching wool socks. $200/pair would be a good price point for those socks. ;)

This is like shades of 10 years ago, when lots of designers (Burberry, Gucci, etc) designed Dr. Scholl’s.

Believe it or not, the two strap white Birk sandal was very hot and sold out everywhere this summer.

Deleted. Posted on wrong thread.

That blue Wallabee is all wrong.

I saw a woman wearing embellished black footie/ankle socks with dressy black mules (and a skirt) yesterday. Strange, but warm?
