“and he’s already apologized over and over.”

His was the classic non-apology apology. This is what he said:
Who does he think he is kidding about mockery not being his intent or his heart? Anyone who saw the video knows darn well that mockery was the main purpose of the diatribe. To try to claim otherwise he just insults our intelligence.

Wow, thanks Teriwtt. So he doesn’t think a leave of absence is the right step? I guess that was not negotiable, though. How far do you think he’ll go? Break with the Church?

I remember a call at 2:00 AM in the morning from my boss’ boss many years ago. He told me about a problem that a big customer was experiencing and said that we’d have to go down there to fix the problem. Of course he meant that I’d be going down to fix the problem. In the corporate world, being asked by your manager is the same as being told by your manager. The asking part is just to be polite.

Of course I don’t know how that works in the Catholic Church.

Though I found Father Pfleger’s performance inappropriate and unbecoming a man of the spirit, I am gald to see that this church and its faithful parishoners will have their pastor back.

Right and wrong, he is certainly quite a character.

This will be a big bend in his learning curve.
