In all my years on CC, I have rarely started a thread but here goes as a favor to my daughter. She lives in NYC and is 22. She wanted me to ask my friends who they recommend for a dermatologist in NYC. She is the one who lives there, not me (I live in VT). I don’t know that many people in NYC. She does! But she says many of her friends see doctors back where their parents live, but that is not realistic for her as she only comes home about twice per year briefly and needs to see doctors in NYC.

I didn’t know any dermatologists in the city and a while back, just researched names that were in Cigna network and she made an appointment and has gone I think three times to this person. She feels it is not working as she’d like, nor does she wants to rely on an ongoing basis on antibiotics, and wants to try someone new. I could look up more names online in the Cigna network, but she’d rather an actual recommendation. I asked her to ask around to the tons of people she knows in NYC, but said I’d try to ask around. And well, where to ask? CC seems to have people who know everything and so I’ll give this a try on her behalf.

My D actually has very good skin (on face). She does have eczema elsewhere, but that is not the issue she is caring about at the moment. She is a professional performer and even though she truly has good skin, the slightest anything on her face seems like a big deal to her. It bothers her whenever it is not 100% clear. I think some is due to stress at times and an intense schedule (she is currently in full time rehearsal mode).

So, if any of you live in NYC or nearby or have kids there who have a dermatologist or know of any, and are willing to pass on recommendations, please let me know on this thread or if you prefer, click on my name to email me (rather than PM). Thanks. I can then look up to see if the doctor is in the Cigna network which is imperative on my end.

So, thanks for the favor as I post this as a favor on my D’s behalf.
