Favorite Biblical/Religious line/verse

<p>Hi, I’m not religious but I just love hearing little lines and verses from the bible since they’re so poetic but since I’m unfamiliar with the bible (or any religious text for that matter), can you please list some and where they came from. Much appreciated! </p>

<p>(please dont bash religious. If you’re not going to share something, dont even make a comment. Thanks!)</p>

<p>“The wind blows where it will” John 3:8</p>

<p>Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened.</p>

<p>Isaiah 41:10 -
“Fear not,
for I am with you.
Be not dismayed,
for I am your God.”</p>

<p>John 16:33 “… In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”</p>

<p>Luke 1:37
“For nothing is impossible with God”</p>

<p>2 Kings 2:23-24</p>

<p>“He went up from there to Bethel, and while he was going up on the way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him, saying, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” And he turned around, and when he saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. And two she-bears came out of the woods and tore forty-two of the boys.”</p>

<p>Ezekiel 25:17</p>

<p>The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.</p>

<p>the 91st psalm</p>

<pre><code>He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

<p>Did you know that that’s not a real verse? The only real part is the thing about the vengeance. </p>

<p>Not at all to put it down though. Ask anyone and they’ll tell you Pulp Fiction is my favorite movie, and that’s one of my favorite lines of all time. But it’s not a real bibly verse.</p>

<p>Esther 3:15</p>

<p>“Every woman should have four pets in her life. A mink in her closet, a jaguar in her garage, a tiger in her bed, and a jackass who pays for everything.”</p>

<p>"And Jesus said unto them … , “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to younder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.”
~Romans 1:17</p>

<p>I love this verse.</p>

<p>Song of Songs 4:2</p>

<p>"I will drink the wine while it is warm
And never let you catch me looking at the sun
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
You’ll still be the one. "</p>

<p>Ecclesiastics 3:1-8</p>

<p>1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. </p>

<p>I also like Jeremiah 29:11</p>

<p>“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”</p>
