Starting this- inspired by the 5 places to shop.
I choose Prana.
Athleta
If you ever want a recommendation on anything Athleta, I’ve probably tried it
Second is probably Talbots. Because they sell everything in a petite. Although I don’t really buy much winter clothing from them, my summer uniform is heavily Talbots. Because I live on the golf course in the summer and they have nice shorts and tees.
I am currently wearing a Talbots sweater
I am also petite. Hard to find clothes!
Lululemon for casual wear and exercising.
Max Mara for business clothes.
Alice and Olivia for fun-going-out-wine-tasting kind of wear.
Confirmed by peeking into my closet.
Prana carries petite and I have a hard time finding petite that is not ‘old lady look’.
My closet is mainly full of Athleta, Lululemon, Beyond Yoga, Vuori. I’m retired and physically active so I tend to buy athletic clothes and athleisure. When I worked I shopped at Banana Republic a lot.
Talbots and Boden. I’m not very exciting. I just bought a new purse this week and it’s the same purse I bought from Mark & Graham 5 years ago, which I love, except the new one doesn’t look like it has been through a war.
I agree that when I worked I also went to Banana Republic for clothes- they did carry petites. At 5 ft there are limited choices- Talbots just did not seem to work for me.
I think that’s it.
I tend to buy a brand that I know fits. That’s easy enough without trying on clothes. Or ordering gobs to find something that fits.
That’s why I will buy a lot from one brand. Because I know it fits me well.
Finding my MOB dress means ordering multiple dresses from multiple retailers to find one that I like the way it fits. It’s exhausting, there aren’t enough options in a single store or even available at local stores for me to try.
Every day stuff, order from a retailer I love, it fits and I wear.
LLBean…we live in New England, so there are days that I am practically head to toe in LLBean, so we often make the trip to the outlet while visiting our kids in college
For sweaters and tops, I like JJill and Talbots. I have Not Your Daughters Jeans and those work really well for me.
For anything else…it’s what I happen to find that I like. I really don’t have favorites for anything else.
For MOB - I ended up with a dress from Macy’s and shoes (an odd Norwegian brand) from Dillards. I tried extensively to find something at Nordstrom’s- but didn’t work.
If I look in my closet I would say that the brand represented most is Athleta. For work I have a collection of NuuMuu dresses that I pair with leggings and cardigans, etc for a nice but casual look.
I want to have a WHOLE rack of Patagonia but my budget is restricted to a few pieces!
I’ve recently gone back to good old Levi’s 501s. And thrift store shopping for good brands since we’re on a tight budget. Just scored some nice J Crew and Neiman Marcus finds secondhand.
I really like WHBM.
I buy a lot of whatever there is at Costco that fits. That’s a lot of Gloria Vanderbilt. I also have several Lauren dresses from Ross. I get some things from Nordstrom’s Rack as well. I keep clothing until they literally fall apart after wearing for decades. I guess I don’t have any one brand. For outerwear (when I travel to cold places), I have a lot of Columbia, especially Omniheat clothing so it’s not as bulky while being warm.
For travel, I like Ex Officio for dress blouses and panties–easy to wash and they don’t stain nor wrinkle.
What is this?
White House Black Market
I need to find another formal dress for a wedding. I might just shop in my closet. Not sure, because I lost weight.
Me too! And Old Navy.
