<p>This is probably just a question for current UW students or recent graduates, but any advice would of course be welcome! :slight_smile: </p>

<p>Are there any classes or professors who you really thought were top notch or just fascinating? And why of course! </p>

<p>Iā€™m planning on going into History/PoliSci/Education, so any emphasis there would definitely be appreciated, but of course I will have to take many classes in a variety of subjects, so you donā€™t necessarily have to narrow it down to just the social sciences!</p>

<p>Any class by the late Harvey Goldberg. One of the few profs ever to have their lectures put on a CD by his students.</p>

<p>Karol Shoemaker is very good for law and history. </p>

<p>A lot of people thought he was boring, but I always liked John Cooper for History. </p>

<p>Steven Clark Ridgely or something was also pretty interesting.</p>

<p>I really donā€™t remember anything of what I learned in college though, including what professors I had.</p>

<p>I Loved John Cooper for history. Woodrow Wilson expert. I loved it when heā€™d imitate southern politicians. Sadly, heā€™s essentiallly retired.</p>

<p>Among the young Jeremi Suri is great to watch lecture. An expert on the history of foreign policy. Wrote a great book on Kissenger a few years ago. Ofcourse Bill Cronon is awesome (regardless of what the Wis. GOP thinks!).</p>

<p>In terms of electives, Iā€™m finishing up Human Sexuality with Janet Hyde this semester and I have really liked it. What I like is that itā€™s not a particularly hard class, but it is very informative and you come away really knowing a lot of practical knowledge about sex, which, letā€™s face it, is super helpful. Janet is HILARIOUS and great as well, totally knowledgeable, she wrote her own textbook which is apparently what a LOT of Human Sex classes all over the country use. The class is 4 credits, but doesnā€™t have too much workā€¦we all need a GPA booster now and again, but instead of taking a mindless class, this one actually teaches you something thatā€™s directly relevant to you. Highly recommended for balancing out a tough semester :)</p>

<p>Joseph Boucher for Business Law is greatā€¦Not a class many people take for elective credit, but itā€™s really worth it. Funny guy, great orator, knows his stuff.</p>

<p>For intro classes, I really enjoyed Bryan Hendricks in the psych department, and Allen Clauss for o-chem. Hendricks just clearly loves his job, and Clauss breaks down what could otherwise be a tough subject.</p>
