Favorite Earring Style?

On a daily basis I switch between platinum diamond studs and small gold hoops. I also have a few pairs of Kendra Scott earrings I wear when I go out.

My piercings closed up w/ my first pregnancy ( I know! Weird, right?) so I haven’t worn anything in 19 years. I recently discovered cuffs on Etsy so I bought a few pairs for DH to put in my stocking. All are rose gold. Some are meant to be worn up high and some are meant to mimic a regular piercing. One even has a fresh water pearl that dangles. I can’t wait to try them!!

I have a gorgeous diamond and pearl set that my parents gave me on my wedding day. I have no idea what to do w/ them! I don’t have daughters and I’d feel weird about giving them to either of my sisters while my parents are still around. Besides, I have 2 sisters… how would I even choose who to give them too!?

None of my earrings are heirlooms or expensive. Partially because I have a habit of playing with my ears/earrings when I’m working or on the phone or whatever and have lost plenty.

However about a year ago I cleaned our my earring “drawer” and gave myself permission to get rid of so many I had collected over the years! Haven’t missed any of them.

I have some fashion earrings (Alexis Bittar) and some with precious stones given to me by Mr. but I have not worn them in years… maybe it is time to let the kiddos pick through that box.

My favorites are silver hoops, but I switched to small simple drop earrings.

The larger hoops, to my eye, emphasized my aging sagging face. I gave them to my kids.

I don’t wear gold except for my wedding band. Silver all the way!

My older jewelry is all gold. My newer (past 10 years) is all silver. Are both in style right now?

I have a ton of earrings, all colors, metals, price-points. Almost all are dangles as I have very short hair, so my earrings give me “length” and are my statement pieces. For instance, I love wearing my block “M” earrings while watching Michigan games. I have a lot of very blingy evening-wear earrings, too. I’m never without earrings and rings, but don’t wear necklaces or bracelets anymore.

Dislike wearing jewelry in general. Got my ears pierced years ago so could wear earring without the painful pinching. Several years ago I developed a nickel allergy- noticed with some cheap gift earrings that has now meant even 14 carat gold causes swelling. I’m still fine with Indian 24 carat gold studs. Have a couple of silver hoop styles but don’t wear them- keep the studs to keep holes open. Casual lifestyle so haven’t invested in silver/stainless steel post earrings. Have had some heavy earrings in the past- prefer lightweight- comfort trumps style always.

@psychmomma , yes gold and silver are in style! Isn’t that great?

I wear the same pair every day. Pretty much, when I lose one I get a new pair. I prefer “lever-back”. Current pair is silver, lever-back with a small dangle.

I’ve had my ears pierced since I was 12. I could never wear non gold earrings, so I was used to only having a few pairs. I rarely change out my good stud knots. I have some hoops and diamond studs that I wear for special occasions.

I tore my earlobe a number of years ago—dangling earrings caught on a sweater as I was removing it. After expensive plastic surgery to repair my ear and then having it re-pierced, I will only wear smallish studs. I have a pair of Mikimoto pearl studs with white gold posts and a pair of diamond studs with platinum posts—I switch between these two for everyday wear. I have a friend who is a talented jewelry designer. For my 60th birthday, my husband asked her to make a pair of earrings. She had access to paraiba tourmaline stones and created a beautiful pair of earrings. I only wear those for special occasions.

Diamond studs (platinum, not gold) or south sea pearl studs (black or white). I don’t wear any hoops. I have a pair of sapphire/diamond earrings that I’ll wear sometimes.
