Favorite Earring Style?

Do you prefer dangling earrings or posts? Gold or silver? Have you changed over the years or stayed consistent over time?

I used to wear hoops and dangling earrings almost exclusively for years. Now I wear both and am loving some of the cute post styles and ear cuffs.

Do you wear the same matching earrings in both ears, or do you wear different earrings in each ear?

I suddenly have too many cute earrings and not enough holes for them!

I have a small partial rip in one ear lobe so only wear posts or very light dangles. I have multiple piercings and have an “extra” in one year so I always have one mismatched.

I wear both silver and gold depending on the rest of my jewelry.

My D loves cuffs and crawlers.

I don’t like gold jewelry of any kind, lol. Definitely prefer hoops/dangling ones and I don’t mismatch earrings and generally match them with necklace in material/color. I can’t go to my local art museum gift shop as they have unique and dramatic earrings/necklaces that I always love.

Gold only, one hole in each ear. I rotate a low inventory: gold ball dangles, gold knot posts, and inverted-U placeholders I can grab in a hurry since hole in especially my right ear starts closing up if I don’t wear something every day.

Small gold hoops for everyday. If I’m dressed up I’ll wear my diamond studs or diamond set hoops. I’m a minimalist.

silver only and usually small hoops or dangles. I never wear posts anymore because talking on the phone at work causes the end of the post to poke me and hurt!

Gold. Simple dangle. Must be lightweight. Only rotate through 3 pair 95% of the time.

Hoops and dangles are my favs. One hole each ear. Yellow gold 99% of the time.

Pretty much daily and sleep with them on- 2 holes- tiny gold hoop and a white gold lever back drop with diamond dangle. I like to wear gold and silver jewelry together or even the same piece. Oddly my faucet fixtures reflect that, too.

Very lightweight dangling earrings. Small stones.

99% silver, mostly lightweight danglers. H has given me some lovely small stones that I’m happy to wear now and then. Overall I kind of have a set of summer-y ones and a set of winter-y ones that I rotate through. If I liked my ears better, I’d get more piercings.

I never leave the house without earrings and rotate through a good many choices. 100% white gold. My go-to favorite is a pair of inside/out diamond hoops. I’ve just started to venture into dangling earrings. I only have one pair of stud type earrings because I don’t like clutch backs. I much prefer omega closures.

@momofsenior1 , I also have a partial lobe tear. Probably from too many years of holding a phone against heavy earrings in my 20s. I use Lobe Wonder to stabilize the hole and provide some extra support. Works great! You’d never know that both ears aren’t exactly the same.

Funny, I was just talking about this same subject on Thanksgiving with my mother. She changes her earrings daily to match her outfit. She never even got her ears pierced until her 40th birthday!

I wear the same small hoop earrings every day. I have a gold pair my mom gave me years ago and a silver pair dh gave me. I prefer the clasps on them as I often forget to remove before I go to sleep and they are the only I don’t that don’t jab me. I rarely wear post earrings and though I have a lot of earrings, I really only change them for an evening out or special occasion, otherwise, I just wear the small hoops.

In college, a friend gave me a second piercing in one lobe. I wore a stud in it for a few years but then took it out and let it close up. There’s no noticeable hole at all, but occasionally when putting my earring in, it will go in that hole (I don’t even realize it except that it won’t go all the way through). So I guess it never truly closed even tho you can’t see it and it’s been at least 25 years.

I love earrings and have tons. All dangling, colors, styles. I never leave home without them! I have a few more sedate but not many. I typically wear those if I have more of a statement type necklace. Just bought these from Loft yesterday.

I love those @conmama.

I have a few pairs that were gifts from my husband and are special to me, but most were just accumulated over the past 42 years. I’m suddenly feeling less embarrassed by how many pairs I have lol! A few pairs a year for 42 years isn’t bad and they take up very little space!

I recently had third lobe piercings added and a double helix on one ear.
The new piercings all had the flat backs on the posts so don’t poke my head if laying on them. I still have two or three more piercings I’m considering (still ears).

I wear both gold and silver, almost always dangly but not too long. I have many with stones, some both white gold and yellow gold.
I got a pair of diamond studs for my 30th birthday, and I wore them almost every day for about 10 years. Womens I haven’t worn them at all In probably 10 years. I used to wear only real gold gold. Now I do silver and white gold also.

I have studs and wires, but 90% of the time I wear wires. Most of my earrings are from craft shows. A handful of them are different for left and right ear, but most are the same. I don’t wear them every day anymore which means they are less comfortable when I do wear them, and a couple of my studs are too big for my ears.

Platinum/diamond studs with screw backs. Of course, from Costco. They only come out once or twice a month for cleaning by sonicating. Otherwise, they take a morning shower with me, they go to work with me, they cook dinner with me, then they relax a bit and go to sleep with me firmly attached to them.

Before these studs, I had tried the same with gold earrings, and my ear lobes would get periodically inflamed. Nickel in the alloys, apparently. None of such nonsense with Pt.

I had my drop earrings made from studs due to being unable to sleep in studs because of pain.

I can’t wear studs because they itch and make my ears red and inflamed. Whatever I wear has to be able to move. My biggest problem is forgetting to take my earrings out when I go to the pool. They would be okay if they were a precious metals but since they’re cheap they can easily be corroded by the chlorine.
