Favorite "guilty pleasure" movie?

Haha, Blades of Glory qualifies, IMO. What about Napoleon Dynamite?

I wouldn’t count Napolean Dynamite as a guilty pleasure movie. It’s quirky and silly but is well made and decently regarded.

The Cutting Edge.

Thank you for reminding me of the title of Center Stage. Now I know how to find it again!

@atomom – Borat! Yes, absolutely! And it’s not a movie, but Da Ali G Show (spelling??) is a super guilty pleasure.

It’s hard to act like an educated, gainfully employed, middle-aged woman when my mentality more closely resembles that of an 11 year old boy.

My son and his girlfriend have been watching and rewatching the Fast and Furious movies. They even bought the most recent one. I watched it with them. I don’t feel guilty about watching it once, but I sure would if I had watched it as often as they have!

Steel Magnolias… I know it’s really cheesy but I just can’t help watching every time. It’s as if I’m hoping it will end differently.

Thought of another one:

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

It’s extremely well made, but I view it as a guilty pleasure because it’s so sexist. But awesome! And sexist.

My D loves Jackie Chan movies, especially out takes. We watched with her–so silly but cute.

I’m a sucker for the original Planet of the Apes. And, Omega Man.

Someone should start a guilty pleasures TV thread. I’m a lot more embarrassed about some of the TV I watch than about any movie I’ve ever seen.

@Hanna It’s definitely difficult for me to watch some of those old (favorite then) movies from the 60s-70s due to the sexism.

The Notebook

Drop Dead Gorgeous
Twilight
Legally Blonde
We’re the Millers

and I’m sort of guilty for the choice of movies we brought to the hospital when my daughter was born:
Beauty and the Beast
Silence of the Lambs

Watched them both. That combo was sort of like my pregnancy diet - very strange!

Monty Python’s " The Meaning of Life " so tasteless , it’s embarrassing to admit to liking it

I love all those Busby Berkeley musicals, but no one else in my house does so I don’t get my guilty pleasure very often.

My s/o was over on a Friday nite, when I had “Say yes to the dress” on. He was sickened by the TV show. Couldn’t believe I liked it. That is what I call "guilty pleasures " .

Bookworm, it took a while, but DH is as hooked on that show as I am. Although he focuses more on the ill-behaved brides, mothers and friends while I just like to look at the dresses.

I’m with your hubby. I can’t imagine spending $5000 on a dress, let alone 2. I watch for the family drama.

TOTALLY. Aaron Spelling’s life’s work was three decades of guilty pleasures. Dallas…Love Boat…Fantasy Island…90210…

And now I work from home, so you can imagine the unlimited opportunities to watch reality dreck. Shame on me.
