Favorite Monopoly Property

Boardwalk ftw

^ Only to trade for the Gold set. At $200 a house it’s an awesome property to give to somebody else.

we should nutsy bolts again… i’m bored and that was fun

Did you guys know there is some actual strategy in Monopoly? Even there it’s just dice rolling, you can google around and theres a whole percentage list on the probablity of landing on a property due to Chance/Community cards (Go back 3 spaces, Go to Jail).

Illinois is the most landed space, statistically.

I myself prefer the Orange/Pink because it is so nerveracking to those that just got out of jail :)

St. James Place.

Seriously though, the orange monopoly is beastly. Easily the best one in the game.

Then the railroads.

^ Railroads are excellent if you have something to funnel the cash from them into. Railroads + green or blue isn’t bad. Orange is definitely the best in the game. Anything higher takes too long to develop, and anything lower can’t be built up big enough to win the game.

The absolute worst properties are the yellows.

^Better than the reds.

^ The reds get landed on more, so they’re a bit better IMO.

You get less money from them though. Suffice it to say that both the yellows and the reds suck.

I love me the railroads. Oranges are the best traditional properties, followed closely by the Light Blues ($50 houses ftw). I’ve also been partial to the Purples but that is probably because I’d love to have the entire row of death.

Other things I’ve noticed:

 • No one ever seems to end up with all the greens.
 • Everyone is obsessed with the Reds no idea why…

Oranges are clearly the best. Cheap to build, but not a bad payoff.
Someone must have done a study on the most profitable properties/monopolies.

K, I just googled it. There’s lots of good stuff out there.

Anyone else start compulsively playing online Monopoly after seeing this thread?

This is honestly a no-brainer. Get a monoply on the orange or magenta and the game is over…

theres online monopoly?!

The greens aren’t landed on often, and they suck (because they’re expensive to buy, expensive to build, and nobody lands on them). The reds are most landed on, hence the obsession.

pogo

Awww I love the reds! And the yellows are my second fave… Mostly I just have a soft spot for the midwest. :)

I wonder what they play in Soviet Russia.

Shortage?

.

Russian accent “Okay, so here is your thimble. You go round this board, play this game. Here is piece of wheat and bit of iron to get you started. Okay, so government owns all these pieces. Each time you land on piece, you give bit of iron, then you get piece of wheat. Oops, you land on chance. You either join Party or get hauled away as traitor. Just kidding, you get hauled away as traitor anyway! Is funny game, you see?”

how i love soviet russia jokes
