favorite president would have to be Jimmy Carter, mostly for his diplomatic skills and his creation of Habitat for Humanity…

Jefferson, Washington, Reagan.

sarcas GEORGE W. BUSH. DATS MY MAN. I love he allowed illegal tapping of people’s phone lines, got us into a war that was unneccesary, tried to sell our ports to a country that had some ties to Al Qaeda, has secret prison camps, has an adminstration that gives out classified information cough CIA LEAK, has shown no actios of trying to stop rising gas prices besides him stating he will fight, made US lose many key allies, made us crushed with a trillion dollars worth of debt, lies to us by telling us Iraq has connections to Al Qaeda and has WMD (WHERE ARE THEY??!!), and finally chokes on a pretzel a little joke. Who chokes on a pretzel, it is called chewing before swallowing.

I am not democract nor republican. I think both parties are doing a horrible job and my vote will make sure we get some people who will officially resolve the immigration bonanza, lower our gas prices, get us out of the war that cost my cousin his leg, etc. I am not happy with our leadership here.

Vote for me.

Unfortunately I live in a red state, so my straight Dem. ticket probably won’t count for much…

Zachary Taylor…eh, not really, but oh well.

John F. Kennedy

Don’t hate me for it, but Old Hickory is my favorite…

aka Andrew Jackson

I am my favorite president…vote for me 2024!

But in reality it has to be FDR, I think he did a lot…and JFK, and GW.

Basically, any president who you can abbreviate their name and still know who someone is talking about lol :p…well, that excludes presidents from the past 15 years.

Maybe you shouldn’t take this post seriously at all.

Jackson was a good prez too. I also like Cleveland, Harding, Coolidge, and TR. I like TR because he was a great man, and not cuz he was a great prez.

but jackson was a dictator.

No (ten chars) FDR was.

gotta go with Clinton here.

exactly why I love him, leah.
gotta love his style, his flair.

yes.
-spoils system
-destruction of the BUS
-trail of tears
-ridiculous amount of vetoes
-all for the “common man” but in reality was a wealthy plantation owner

Destroying BUS was about the most anti aristocratic thing ever. Governmental monopolies are never good things.
Spoils system was not good for the govt, but certainly didn’t make him a ‘dictator’.
I will concede trail of tears
Veto is a presidential power given by the Constitution. Are you implying that following the Constitution makes you a dictator?!
Meh

don’t forget the Specie Circular and the Panic of 1837(?), his Kitchen Cabinet

But c’mon, someone needed to stick it to John Marshall. And no other president could’ve dealt with the nullification crisis as well. He was our last strong president before the string of weak ones preceding the Civil War.
I never said I agreed with everything he’s ever done, but I liked his style.

I would choose Abraham Lincoln. We should appreciate him for getting us through the Civil War and freeing the slaves.

*Destroying the BUS plunged the U.S. into economic depression and it was beyond his own strict constructionist doctrine to place government funds in state banks without official legislation
*The spoils system was a way for Jackson’s party to gain more and more control over gov’t. agencies…if that’s not dictatorial, I don’t know what is…
*Jackson used the veto power like crazy (more than any other president of the time)–while obviously it’s a presidential power, abusing it destroys the checks and balances system

I’d have to second Lincoln. I also like Jimmy Carter.
