Thomas Jefferson

Haha me too!! Thomas Jefferson!!!

William Jefferson Clinton
90s were pretty awesome
And compared to what some other presidents have done, we had it pretty good with Clinton the sex machine

You mean Clinton the perjurer.

Jefferson too actually…

If that’s the only lie Clinton gave to the American people I’d say that’s pretty good.

How did Clinton’s infidelity correlate with his ability as the president?

Yeah. It didn’t.

And I like Henry Clay lol. Unfortunately he was never the president…

It didn’t have to. Perjury is perjury is perjury is perjury is perjury is…

doesn’t matter.
times were good.

i couldn’t give a damn about his “perjury.”

I just don’t even understand why the subject could have been grounds for impeachment anyway…it wasn’t even comparable to scandals like Watergate, seeing as it had no connection to the office of the presidency…

I recently read some of Tocqueville’s Democracy in America, an analysis of life in 1830’s America from a Frenchman’s perspective. This quote reminded me of Clinton and so many other political scandals.

“The hallmark of the American journalist is a direct and coarse attack, without any subtleties, on the passions of his readers; he disregards principles to seize on people, following them into their private lives and laying bare their weaknesses and their vices.”

Interesting how some things don’t seem to change after 200 years …

I’m glad you asked for “favorite” instead of “best”, because I think it’s so hard to prove which president was most talented or successful. So I have to vote for Jefferson, too, because he gave classy dinner parties and was a pretty awesome amateur architect.

Favorite President, not the best?

My chose would be Theodore Roosevelt. He had a big public image around the whole world during and after his presidency.

Going with the Clinton one.

So he lied! Oh my gosh.

W1cked, if perjury is perjury, repeat x infinity, and since you favor Jefferson and seem so unfair to Clinton,

What do you have to say about Jefferson’s other children? He sure as hell lied about it to everyone else too when others questioned him about it. Of course, it’s OK FOR HIM because he didn’t get caught?

generally-FDR

when im depressed by something-George W Bush, i like his parody pictures…

Well for one, he didn’t lie about anything in a court of law. Of course, his policies were bad too. He increased corporate+income tax rates, increased minumum wage, allowed states to nullify or not recognize gay marriages (and you thought that the bible thumper Bush was the only one, huh?) and worst of all passed the 1994 AWB or Brady Bill or whatever you want to call it. Oh, and you might as well add Waco and Ruby Ridge to the list.

Based upon the fact that he didn’t get caught again. You honestly think he wouldn’t have lied in a court of law?

He was being blackmailed, and was pondering to give a federal position to someone(Postmaster for anyone curious) to keep their mouth shut (I’m later unsure of the eventual actions of what happened).

How is that any better?

k, that is true (I will admit that clinton did do something unlawful and deserved impeachment) but in the scope of things that other presidents have done, is that really a big deal?

Name a few that have committed perjury.

You just edited on me, so I’m going to add the reply on here.

Jeffreson’s policies were also far from perfect. He did not accurately predict all the economic changes that would rapidly occur. His arguements toward Hamilton’s view of captalism would later change America greatly.

You seem to fail to recogonize that Presidents are not demi-gods. Everyone makes mistakes. Soros made a billion in a day … but lost billions in months.

Ok…
