I bought this Anker portable charger to use at the Rose Bowl and it was perfect. I also have a 12 mini; husband has a 13 mini. I charged both our phones back to 80% during the game; each took under half an hour and the charger was still half full.

It’s very lightweight. And it came in mint green to match my phone!

Cool! I have a green phone too  Actually I’d like any non-black color to help find it in my backpack.

I’ve used this for three years; it’s worked great. When you’re traveling you just plug it into the wall and use it as the charger that you plug your phone into, and in the morning pop it off and the plug folds down and you carry it with you as the backup battery bank.

Thanks for the quick feedback (same for Marilyn :grinning:)

My sister recommended a model with percentage charge displayed, but it may not arrive in time for trip. Yours seems to have 3 led indicators - that could work too.

UPDATE: The nano has LEDs too, just hard to see in the photos for non-black colors

Anker makes quality products. When I need an extension cord, that’s the first maker I look for.

My husband asks… are these devices be allowed on a plane? We just found answer - max 27000 mAh (these are 5000), must be in carry-on (not checked).

I am considering both models. But since I fly out early Sat, I like the Wed estimate vs Friday.

Yes, it has four little lights. Just noticed only three are lit so am charging (in case we get a power failure from the rainstorms). It works for my iPad too. It can also be a pass through charger but only using a USB port unless you have a wall outlet adapter.

Edit, I am charging the charger now, not the phone. That was just for the photo op!

Thanks for the photo. There was also appeal to the other multi-function option, but I decided to order the Nano since it will arrive in 2days.

W and I used this one for our 3-week trip around Europe last year. It’s super convenient to just slap it on the back of the phone and not have to worry about cables, and you can easily continue using the phone as a camera while it’s charging (not sure how it fits the 12 mini specifically though).

Ours is similar to the Anker one (likely a knockoff)

What I like is that it holds the charge for a long time. Stays in my purse and even if it has been a couple of weeks, the battery is at 100% and it charges the phone really quickly. Got one for everyone in the family.

Does anyone have any suggestions for secure wallets for men to thwart pickpockets? I am looking for something that he can easily access when he needs to pay for something. I see great bags for women, but am having trouble finding a good product for my husband. Thanks

I keep my valuables (and sometimes also my iphone 12 mini) in neck wallet under clothing, small bills in pocket. There is no purse that I would trust… but that is partly due to my absent minded tendency to leave things behind.

Husband sometime wears a waist passport pouch under his clothing. On our last trip to Europe lots of “tap” payments. Of course it is important to keep the phone safe. I’ve seem some men using a front waist pouch.

We’ve both liked our REI convertible zip off pants for travel. The zipped pocket on front of leg is especially useful.

My parents got my H/BIL a wallet with a chain that hooks onto their belt loops. Unlike me, they always wear clothes with belt loops.

Twice, my Dad and my BIL were almost victims of pickpockets. They only felt something when they felt their wallets swinging from their belt loops. Obviously, the pick pockets weren’t able to get them.

But I did look on AAA and couldn’t find them. This was 12 years ago, but you can probably find something similar on amazon.

I totally ditched my wallet in favor of a small card holder pocket that sticks to the back of my phone. It’s sooooo much more convenient, and generally more secure as I keep it in a front pocket. I typically just have my DL, one credit card, and a $20 bill in there.

My H also uses a small card holder with RFID blocking. Always in his front pocket - one credit card, DL, and a photo copy of his passport. Everything else he keeps locked in the hotel safe when traveling.

When we are in crowded areas, he puts his hand in the pocket that has the card holder (usually in the same pocket as his phone).

I was thinking about something like this Travelon cross body for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EAFELYQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_12?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

I have found a few wallets with chains or lanyards for DH. Here are a couple I am looking at:

Or possibly a phone case with a clip lock:

Nothing is foolproof of course.

I was so skeptical when my son requested this Ridge wallet for Christmas in 2019. He travels a lot for both business and pleasure, he carries the wallet in his front pockets when traveling, and he still thinks it’s the greatest wallet ever. He prefers the cash strap to the money clip.

How to use:

One thing to think about is that many of the wallet items can be left home (or in hotel safe). I remembered that my husband has a card holder he often puts in front pocket. Since our convenient (to me) tradition is for him to usually pay for things, his credit card usually needs to be more accessible than mine.

I thought this would be a great gift - but both H and S didn’t like the ridge wallet. Curmudgeons - resistant to change!

We all use the neck wallets and put under our shirts. I thought they would be a hassle, but it wasn’t. And definitely felt relief at not being worried about pickpockets. I tried several and found zero grid the lightest and most comfortable.
