FDA issues pet treat warning (jerky treats)

<p>I’ve always been leery of the uncooked dried chicken jerky:</p>

The agency says it’s received reports of more than 3,600 dogs and 10 cats that got sick after eating jerky pet treats since 2007. Of those cases, the FDA says, more than 580 pets have died.

<p>I haven’t seen jerky, but I just bought some pizzles & tendons for chews.
But I always make sure they are from the USA.
Still can cause problems though, I saw that in 2007 the brand I buy had a salmonella recall.
( as if they weren’t nasty enough)
( how can jerky be uncooked?)</p>
