February 7th. Discuss.

anyone who has taken the act in the past…how long is it usually until we get our scores… closer to 2 weeks or 2 months?? thanks

ACt starts posting them online on the 18th for most people.

I have to add that I was extremely excited about the Astronomy reading and science sections since I was in Astronomy second semester of last year, and it’s my best science subject. That made those sections so much easier.

If I get a 30 or higher I’m set lol.

if i get a 30 or higher, i will be very happy! lol. I’m hoping for a big curve on the Science!!

for reading can anyone confirm.

i had two answers that went like this.

important blah blah because they were close to planets?

like, for those questions i just basically looked in the passage… i got a 30 last time and i think i might get less this time round…

^^^yes…i had that answer

what was the question??

anyone remember the math question where it said something like…“there are three barrels each full with 870 blocks of hay. Each block of hay is the same size. If the third barrel holds 130 more than the second, and the first barrel holds like 70 less than the second, how many blocks of hay does the second barrel hold?”

I was confused because the first part of the question says that all three barrels hold a maximum of 870 and that they were all full. The question contradicted itself (unless i read it wrong…). I just answered 870 (I think it was D).

Anyone remember what the question actually read. I remember reading it a few times…

Thanks!

i think the answer was 270

ya i got stuck on that one too james014…i think i put 240 as the answer by guessing. i didn’t think 870 was the asnwer…how could the third barrel hold mor than the second if they were also 870…idk

For those of you who were wondering - I took the ACT Oct 25 and received my scores online only about 2 weeks or so after…

I didnt get my essay score posted though for another couple weeks after that.

i think the value of x was 200…then add 200 + 70 and the answer is 270

I also put 870, i thought it was somewhat of a trick question because it says they all held 870…

the answer was 270. 100% sure. it gave me trouble because I tried to solve for variables. then I just picked 200 for the first barrel and it worked! then I realized after the test that i missed stupid problems and that I do not know that when you add a negative number to a positive number you are subtracting, not adding(stupid science question). Is is just I who gets really angry with these tests? (sorry I needed to vent a little bit)

By “all held 870” they meant the barrels hold 870 bales altogether. The ACT doesn’t give trick questions.

ya for that barrel one i dunno…

the first part definitely said they all held a max of 870…but then the second half of the question made no sense.

Dnlgao I thought the same way at first.

thanks for clarifying…wasnt a tough question i just knew i read something wrong.

All held 870 together, Ah.
