February Weather in Las Vegas ... and conference dress

I’ve been invited to speak at a conference in Las Vegas next February. What is the weather likely to be … and what should I wear?

Normally, when I go to trade shows I wear nice slacks – or nice jeans – and a new store-logo shirt, which may be a store sweater with collar. I’m much more dressed up than the other buyers – who are wearing grungy jeans and their store tee shirts because “they should be comfortable” walking around all day. (My daily dress is clean jeans or khakis and a store shirt, or a polo/dress shirt topped with a store fleece.)

Well this isn’t a trade show … it’s a conference and I am a panelist. So I am thinking that my normal “business attire but out of the shop” look would be under-dressed. Not sure at all that the right thing is in my closet … ideas?

(No skirts/dress suggestions … I just don’t do that! My wardrobe at the moment seems to be either very casual, or going out to dinner dressy. I don’t seem to have dressy-business and don’t really know where to start except that I don’t think my wonderful soft corduroy blazer is going to do it!)

Why not invest in a classic fitted black wool jacket and black wool pants? Wear with a coloured silk blouse that complements your skin. You will be able to wear all these pieces later. (easy to dress them up or down!) It can be cold in the desert in Feb.
But you will probably be indoors most of the time.
