feces on an airplane!

 They kind of did tho.

Not buying this. He is massively exaggerating. Says there is feces everywhere, yet the only picture is of a little on his shoe. Everybody is rude to him, nobody cares, terrible, terrible. I think he’s trying to get some compensation.

It appears that there was probably some on the floor that the cleaning crew missed. Gross, of course, but they clean those airplanes pretty fast. He’s making a huge deal, yet only shows a bit on his shoe, and in this day and age, people video or take pictures of everything. And I doubt everyone is going to be rude to him, especially if there’s a huge mess everywhere. I would be grossed out by feces, but I think he is going for the bucks.

To my point. 50K (a free ticket) ain’t enough. He wants big bucks, and if he doesn’t get it, he’s gonna sue. Personally as a very important :open_mouth: diamond medallion and million miler myself, I’d be happy for a little poop on my shoe for 50k miles.

Although that may have been the last flight to Ft. Lauderdale (or wherever he was going) I bet it wasn’t the last flight to Florida out of Atl. I don’t think there IS a last flight as there are a million flights from Atl to somewhere in Florida every day… It said he then took a 4 hour Uber to Tampa. Well he could have rented a car and driven to TAmpa in the same 6 hours it took to fly to Ft. Lau and then drive to Tampa.

I would have been OFF that plane fast.

He was going to Miami, then taking another flight to Tampa. Delta has 13 direct flights a day from Atlanta to Tampa, and they don’t fly from Miami to Tampa at all. He could have just demanded to get on one of those 13 flights. Nobody would fly ATL-MIA-TPA. Taking a 4 hour Uber ride because he couldn’t bear the thought of being on another flight?

This more you read, the more unbelievable it gets. I guess he’s hoping Delta will pay to shut him up.

Delta has admitted it to the media. The man says he has a “15 minute video of the feces before we were allowed to board, acknowledgement that they didn’t clean it, and being told to sit in it”. It’s easy to find his fb page. He took the shoe photo in the lav so there wouldn’t be much else to photograph in there.

Of course, he should sue if Delta doesn’t properly respond. He should get handsomely compensated for his ordeal. That will keep us all safe from airline tyranny. I am not a medallion member of anything, yet even I wouldn’t be satisfied with 50k miles. Not enough for sitting on feces.

Delta isn’t the only airline flying from Atlanta to Miami, and he didn’t want to go to Miami anyway. He could have flown to Orlando or Tampa on another airline.

I’m just saying that I’d have gotten off the plane and demanded that Delta get me to Florida somehow.

I would believe it if I actually see the video. I won’t automatically believe something because someone SAYS they have a video. And I find it hard to believe that people are going to be rude, while they know they are being taped, and actually tell someone to sit in feces. Doesn’t that seem unlikely? Everything here is based upon what one person says. One person who wants money.

If I see the video and it proves what he is saying is true, I would be horrified. Otherwise, it’s just one person looking for a cash payout.

Delta should have held the plane until it was all cleaned and then sent the cleaning bill to the owner of the crappy puppy.

And as he didn’t want to go to Miami, why would he have flown Atlanta to Miami on Delta, and then another airline to Tampa, when Delta has 13 flights a day that go from Atlanta to Tampa? That doesn’t make sense. He’s a million miler Diamond medallion…which means he flies all the time and he isn’t naïve. He could have easily demanded a flight to Tampa instead, which would have been better for him anyways.

There’s either far more to this story that is being left out, or it’s complete BS, because the details defy common sense.

Geez, he can fly any way he wants. That’s no reason he should sit in feces.

I’m guessing he had a meeting in Miami - then another in Tampa… maybe not, but it’s what came to my mind when reading it. Totally a guess though.

Maybe he was on a mini mileage run. Maybe he had a one hour meeting in Miami. Maybe he found an ultra-low fare that would have tripled if he had switched to a direct flight. Maybe he made his reservation at the last minute and all the direct flights were full. Why he was flying the way he was is immaterial to the fact that the airline failed to clean the plane and initially, at least, responded as if it was no big deal.

@busdriver11 - you can see very short snippets of his video in one of the newscasts. People’s faces are grayed out. My guess is that the news stations didn’t know the identities of the other passengers and wanted to avoid showing them for legal reasons.

Also, if it was the last flight of the day, and he was already on board and then had to clean up, there may have been no other recourse. I recently missed a visit with a friend because her flight was delayed and she wouldn’t have made her connection and this was all before 6 PM! Atlanta is a busy airport, but it’s also huuuuuuuuuge.

@greenwitch

Oh. my.

Read your post, and read “People’s FECES are grayed out” instead of FACES.

Rolling with laughter here at my mistake! Hahaha!

I’ll have to see the video, as if there’s evidence of it and other people involved, then certainly that’s a different story. Otherwise it just sounds like another sensationalist news report.

And I do realize that when they leave facts out, stories often don’t make sense. Paying for a 4 hour Uber trip when you’ve already paid for a different airlines ticket because you are so traumatized that you can’t fly again is hard to believe…however, they could have gotten the details wrong.

4 hour Uber is extreme.

@busdriver11 The People magazine article on this story shows a large plastic trash bag that is completely filled with paper towels with feces on them, so it’s clear there was a LOT more poop than just the bit on his shoe. It really is completely disgusting. https://people.com/home/delta-passenger-claims-stepped-dog-feces-boarding-flight/?fbclid=IwAR2HN8H0UClZAoDqIL6szCAczznHHlwLwt5zK0779wEZjaAJqP_ltf2ya2c
