Federal Budget Deadlock Threatens Work Study & Fed Grants to Students

<p>According to the article linked above, the current deadlock over the federal budget could cause real harm to college students. I’m not going to get into a debate about who is at fault, but I will just note that (for at least the last week), there have not been any direct negotiations to resolve it.</p>

<p>“Secretary of Education Arne Duncan warned in a testimony to the Senate Appropriations Committee that 33,000 students across the nation would be “eliminated” from the work-study program and 71,000 recipients would see reductions in their Federal Educational Opportunity Grants.”</p>

<p>very likely to affect internships with companies that have large government contracts as well. </p>
