Federal Work Study & Calculator

stanford offers me some federal work study. In the axess website, i already clicked accept offer… is there anything else i have to do such as begin filling out resumes…or do i wait?

ALSO

how important is a TI calculator for the math science courses…and which do you recommend…Ti89 or TI84?

thanks

well as long as ur buying one, get the better one, ti89.

but if u already have the 84, it’s no big deal. matrix operations are a bit easier on the 89, i think. and also the 89 solves diffeqs, which the 84 does not.

yea, basically the ti89 is better.

are there some courses which DON’T allow you to use the TI-89?

I am not sure whether any courses don’t allow you to use the ti-89. However, I was allowed to use the ti-89 through high school so I would imagine that I wouldn’t have any problems in college. I’m not buying a new calc. I am bringing my old ti-89 titanium from high school. It’s only about a year old.

i have a TI-83+, will this be a problem? i don’t really plan to take math past Math 52 or so at the most, if that makes a difference.

That’s totally fine. That’s what I had.
