Fee Waivers

Now that the October scores are out, many people are getting fee waivers. Why is it that some people with lower stats are getting waivers from very prestigious law schools while those with high stats (lsat & gpa) are not getting them from these schools?

Did you sign up for the Candidate Referral Service (CRS) through the LSAC? Think of it as when you to the SAT and you checked the box for colleges where you fit the profile to send you information- same concept. If you did not check the box to sign up for CRS, they don’t know that you are interested in hearing from the law schools.

If you did, do they have your current e-mail address? It is important to update your file at the LSAC if you have a change in address, phone #, e-mail, etc.

This is how students usually get fee waivers.

there are also “hidden” fee waivers, which you will not know are there until you are ready to check out and submit your application, then you will get a message stating that the fee for this school has been waived.
