Well, I certainly don’t fancy my odds, but I thought I’d run it up the flag pole, see if anyone salutes.

I’m a 21 year old Hispanic student; I spent three years out of school working, helping my Mother.

High School GPA (weighted): a little under or over a 4.0, at, what was, the 13th or so best public high school in the country. Exclusively AP and gifted classes (though, if I remember correctly, I had to take some honors classes, where gifted teachers were not available).

High School Curriculum: Lots of Calculus, Physics, German, and Engineering classes (magnet school).

Extra-Curriculars (HS): A few engineering clubs, Habitat for Humanity, Roman Catholic lector, and a few other inconsequential clubs.

I’m currently enrolled in a (very) large and prosperous community college, and have completed 1 semester.

Extra-Curriculars (College): Full-time job, math tutor.

College GPA: 1 semester down, one underway. Cumulative GPA: 4.00.

College Curriculum:

Last Semester: Calculus 1, Intro to Psychology, English Comp. 1, English Comp. 2, and Humanities

Current Semester: Calculus 2, Intro to Cultural Anthropology, Social Environment (essentially AP American Government and Economics), Biology

Both my essays and my recommendations are very strong.

I would apply for a Linguistics major.

Thanks in advance – and don’t be too kind.
