Essays: not sure…

Outside Activity Essay or Activity for Fun Essay:
Talked about my participation in the First Robotics Competition and what I learned

Intellectual Essay:
Talked about how I lead a team during another scientific competition. And how I applied what I had learnt from Robotics. It sort of works together with my outside activities essay.

Roommate Essay:
I discussed how I became independent in my early stay in America

11A: discuss a quote, a state… that really impacted you
Finally, I used “the end justifies the means” I talked about how it works to a limited degree. I stated my in America as an example and used college application and my passion as a closer.

Recommendation: I liked them, but might be a bit trite

Thanks in advance for the feedback

You definitely have a chance, as I know people will lesser stats who got in EA this year. My one concern with you is that there seems to be nothing that especially distinguishes you from the rest of the applicants. Math team, robotics, and science Olympiads aren’t all that special in the stanford pool. Therefore, I say:

~20% chance because nothing screams “I’M INTERESTING” to me at least

good point… I did tried to highlight my love of engineering and how I moved here from China in my essays. I guess it’s not really that speical, since I am asian.

You have a good shot. You should definitely apply.

I cannot stress good writing skills enough, I honestly think the only way I got in (last year) was because of my essays. Pretty much everyone else says the same thing that i’ve talked to here.

My activities were pretty similar probably even less. I just did FIRST robotics, swim team and had lots of wierd/creative hobbies. (nothing organized), grades were slightly worse and my SAT scores were lower

What team # are you? which regionals are you guys going to? I’m a team 701 alum

^agreed .

hi everyone and thank you all

thanks for the helpful replies. I hope my essays are good enough. I can sent them to anyone interested in giving me feedbacks. the nervousness is eating me alive…

for SalikSyed: funny, I am on team #702(just one number apart) from Culver City attending LA regional. the kickoff is tmrw

good chances man!

just write good essays and you can easily get in.

You do have good chances, but I agree that your ECs don’t set you apart a whole lot (summer work’s good, though). See this:
