Feeling guilty about asking for recommendations

I’m getting ready to ask several professors for recommendations, but oddly, I feel as though I’m about to commit a sin. All of my professors are kind, helpful people who love the school at which they teach. Asking them for a recommendation to help me leave their school – for a more prestigious school, no less – seems like slapping them in the face. I’m becoming afraid to ask them, not because I think they won’t be helpful, but because it feels morally wrong.

Has anyone faced this dilemma? Or am I just being overly sentimental?
