Fellow of APS

<p>Is being a fellow of the APS a pretty significant achievement for professors?
Is this more prestigious than say a fellow of their respective major’s spciety (e.g., ASME for for mechanical engineers, AIAA for aerospace)?</p>

<p>It is of similar magnitude.</p>

<p>They are pretty much all the same. Elected by ones own peers. Now, member of the National Academies is another story…</p>
