<p>My daughter applied to a MA-PhD program and has been offered a 4 year scholarship. After April 15 she will be notified by the department if she will be receiving a stipend. When should she notify the university of her acceptance? Before April 15 or after? If she notifies the university before April 15 will it ruin her change of receiving a stipend?

<p>If there’s no pressing reason to respond before April 15, then I would hold off and wait if she’s got an acceptance from anywhere else that’s offering a stipend. I remember one of my friends got into MIT and was really excited about it. That was until she found out they were offering her $15,000 a year to attend.</p>
