I was wondering how much qualifying for the AIME as a girl helps an application. Obviously there are still numerous qualifiers, but would it make a slightly bigger difference as a girl since most qualifiers are boys? I’m thinking of schools like MIT and Stanford.
It will help, but there’s no way to tell how much. As for the effects of your gender, that’s even harder to tell and may well depend on the college’s math department gender ratios.
