<p>The UCs have a scholarship option named ‘Female of English birth or descent’. My mother was born in the UK, so I got my British citizenship from her (since I wasn’t born there) but she’s not actually British as in ethnicity. Should I still tick the box?</p>

<p>I would tick the box. Sounds like your mother is English. And sounds like you descended from her and are female. But won’t hurt to ask.</p>
