Watch video. Just absurd.

One official warned her. There was no point penalty or fine. But yes exposing a sports bra is not offensive. The official was wrong. Meanwhile I’ve been trying to find her Lotto outfit online. Her sponsor is likely delighted that the outfit got so much attention.
The article doesnt mention the biggest difference between the mens and womens tennis game; that the men play best of 5 in the majors while women play best of 3.
The official wasn’t wrong because the Women’s Tennis Assoc rule is that women cannot change on the court. The Men’s rule is different.
It’s the WTA that needs to change its rulle
Well past time to change the policy.
The WTA issued a statement that none of its rules were violated. The USTA statement said that they’ve clarified their rule about changing clothes while sitting the player’s chair.
From the WTA: “The WTA has always been and always will be a pioneer for women and women’s sports. This code violation came under the Grand Slam rules and we are pleased to see the USTA has now changed this policy. Alize did nothing wrong.”
A bra. The scandal. 8-|
I thought we were past this years ago with Brandi Chastain. It’s ridiculous.
I’m much less offended by the sight of a woman in a bra than that of a shirtless man who needs one.
Good one, shepa. :))
Tennis and golf. Country club sports. Sheesh. Too many dumb rules. :-q
Sports bra is functional even in 95 plus degree weather (any female athlete can tell you that). A shirt? Maybe not so much.
And what is wrong with a catsuit?! Alize says - really?
At my club, men cannot take off their shirts either. Thankfully. X_X
