Festival Resume

Should one include the name of the composers they have worked with in their performance resume for musical festival and general orchestra auditions? I thought no, but my friend said somebody told them they should. I would only include a few known names (eg Masur, Kahane, Gilbert, etc…). The overall resume would still be only 1-page long though and I would put the names in parenthesis after the name of the orchestra. Is it a bad idea?

If you are going to call Masur, Gilbert etc. composers, then you probably shouldn’t include them :); but if you just put their names in brackets after the orchestra’s name (thereby implying that they are, indeed, conductors), then I think it is fine, particularly if it doesn’t make your resume overly long.

Haha, thanks. Sorry! This week has been awfully long and this is one in many, many “typos” I’ve been making! Are you saying it’s fine as in I could do it if I wish but it doesn’t really matter? Also, this is probably really stupid but what kind of bracket should I use? Is there an “official” way of writing that type of things? And I have a category called “summer program” but it turns out that one of the programs that I did was in the winter so how could I better name this category? And while I’m at it, I participated in this repertory class with 2 other students that was led by a cellist and conductor in which we would read parts, talk about phrasing, articulation, fingerings, and the 4 of us would play them to see audition playing vs section playing, etc… and had to sight read things for the final. I wanted to include it since I learned a lot but I wasn’t sure how to put it in a short sentence. Maybe it’s not worth mentioning?
I’m really sorry I have all these questions. Summer festival auditions feel so competitive these days, and I thought that maybe upgrading my resume a little bit could give me a small edge.

How about Festivals and Summer Programs?

I agree that the rep class sounds very valuable and needs some sort of mention. Rep class? Studio class? Orchestra workshop? Masterclass series? (Did you pay tuition for it? What was it called on the bill? )
