First generation won’t help
Asian will work against you
Low income won’t help
Sister enrolled will help minimally at best
Applying for summer B will help…although some on this forum would disagree

Judging from UF’s own response, yes 1st generation and low-income WILL help you. They outright say that they consider an applicant’s socioeconomic status, and considering your income-bracket, their expectations of you will be different than someone from a higher socioeconomic status.
They also talk about an applicant’s experiences in-context of their cultural-background, which is admittedly very vague, but either way, I doubt being Asian would hurt you if we do believe that they don’t practice AA outright. Plus, UF likes to boast about the percentage of minority enrollment, and Asians count as minority too.
Like g8tornurse said, it really all depends on your GPA/EC/Test scores/ and In-state/OOS status. Because you’re first-generation, they might be a little easier on you with the GPA/Test scores and if you had to work to support your family; they would probably forgive if your ECs were not on “par” with they typically want to see because they would understand that you had larger priorities than just organizing a school dance or two in SGA

thanks for the reply. yes, it’s UF weighted GPA. I dont work because my sister would lose some financial aid money if our income increases and i thought my essay was decent, not great.

Your GPA is good. SAT are teetering at below-average, but not horrible by any means. ECs are average. Summer B statistically has weaker stats than Fall admits, so I think that would help. Without actually reading your essays, I’d say maybe around 50/50 because you are low-income and first-generation combined with a relatively solid solid GPA.
