I also have 4 years of classical violin training, but it’s pretty much the basics that I know I stopped in the middle of Eine Klein lessons. :(

Choir member in my elementary days :)) (i haven’t joined the High School Choir yet, unfortunately)
I haven’t took the SAT’s yet, will be taking them next year before November, I suppose.

I am freaking out because of my relatively weak SAT’s compared to U.S applicants!!!

DO I STAND A CHANCE>?

no replies yet?? :frowning: :)), I forgot to write that I’m also a journalist, Features Editor of our school publication. Placed 5th at the Division Schools Press Conference, Editorial Category. PLEASE REPLY

I’m sorry i wrote “SAT’s” on the (am freaking out because of my relatively weak SAT’s compared to U.S applicants!!! ) it’s actually stats. sorry. :)

AND I didn’t write the schools I’m applying to:
HYPS, MIT and Williams

I’m also under the low income bracket.

are you from pshs? you kinda have to tell us what your sat is so it would be easier to rank you.

ACtually, from RSHS. I haven’t taken the SAT’s yet. Planning to take them around mid next year. :)

Do well on the SAT, and you’re in.

yeah, do well in the SATs + write killer essays. are you a senior yet? cause wouldn’t it be too late to apply for Harvard for school year 2011?

@Magenta08, are you a Filipino? Where do you Study? :)

@HarvardBound NY, where do you go to? :)

And, do you really think so? Because I always become so anxious and on the verge of being envious when I read US Students’ stats, because I will never have the opportunity to have AP classes and sooo many organizations and extra curricular’s… I mean, what factors does make me sort of ‘in’ if I do good at the SAT’s and write killer essays? :)

Can I add both of you on facebook.com?

I am Filipino and I go to school here. If you have questions, I’d rather you add me on yahoo.

As far as I know, you can still take the AP exams even if you don’t take AP classes.

Primarily, not a lot of filipinoes apply to Harvard, let alone the U.S. So there’s a diversity hook. And yea, I’d say anywhere above a 2270 will get you in. Write an amazing essay also. I go to a public high school in a small town in North Dakota, I also have a geographical hook, and would love to go to Harvard ;)

i wish there were still really a diversity hook since while not a lot of Philippine-born Filipinos might go to the US to the study, there are quite a few Fil-Ams who do + we’re technically under the “Asian category” which might make it a bit more difficult to get into Harvard.

i agree with HarvardBound though, an amazing essay is what would make you stand out from a pool of kids with 4.0s and great ECs. @HarvardBoundNY, i assumed you were from NY. XD

thanks for the replies:) and @ Magenta08, you go to Princeton? Where did you graduate high school? can I have your e-mail.? Thank you so much, both of you :)

haha, i wish i was good enough for Princeton. I meant “here”, the Philippines.

lol, yea I think I meant to put ND, but I don’t know why I put NY.
