Filling out CSS Profile - SS & Disability Benefits

Helping son fill out his CSS Profile. There are two questions I’m a little confused and need help with:

  1. Social Security Benefits received for all family members in 2022.
  2. Other Untaxed income in 2022 (including but not limited to Worker’s Comp, untaxed disability benefits)

What is the difference here exactly? I have a medically fragile daughter that does receive SSI monthly benefits. Do I need to calculate and add the monthly payments received for the 2022 year and put it in? (In #1 or #2; Both? ) This is so confusing. Please help!!

My sons recieved SS survivor’s benefits so I reported those under question 1, as well as late husband’s SS disability payments. I do not think those benefits were considered in aid packages.

I would note in the additional information that the SS benefits are for your medically fragile daughter.

SSI/SSDI is not reported on FAFSA. I don’t know about Profile.
