S got his rejection letter from the film school today, 2/23. I thought I’d post this in case anyone looks back next year to see what the time frame is.

He’s okay with it; it wasn’t his first choice film school, and he has decided that he will not attend there if he isn’t going to be studying film. It has me nervous that he won’t get into any of his colleges with film schools, though. Fortunately, his safety is a school he would enjoy attending (his brother is there, dad attended there, etc.), though it doesn’t have a film school.

So, I guess FSU is finally out for S. Thank you everyone for all your helpful posts and good luck next year!

So sorry to hear the news. The FSU Film school is extremely competitive for admittance since they fund the student’s film projects and I would imagine this year is even more difficult than usual to gain entry. We all wish your son the very best in his academic endeavors.

Timely,
For what it is worth, my daughter wanted to study film at Emerson, instead, she got accepted into her second choice major, studio television and production. She was okay with that and turns out she absolutely loves what she does and wouldn’t have it any other way.
When looking back, she is so glad that it worked out for her as it did.
I wish your son the best of luck.
