Have received merit aid but zero fin aid based on CSS profile and appealed special circumstances (job loss). really can’t afford without more aid but May 1st deadline is tomorrow and if i commit and decide not to go then loose $500 deposit. what are my options, please advise.
Have you received your answer on the appeal of financial aid?
Call today and find out if you can have an enrollment extension. At this and your kid’s second choice college.
And make sure your kid is checking their spam folder for financial aid updates. Sometimes they end up there.

No, has been 2 weeks and no response yet.
Afraid of bugging them but will have to ask.
You need to pick up the phone and call them. Today! And if they don’t have a definitive answer for you, you can ask for an extension. But you’ll probably need to put down a deposit at your alternate school and risk losing it if Case comes through with an acceptable offer.

If this is your real name, you should change it for this site. Search and instructions will pop up 
You are not bugging them - you are advocating and showing your interest in attending their school. Call them asap!
Also, remember that FA is evaluated every year, so will the school be affordable once employment is secured? Sounds like Case didn’t think you qualified prior to the job loss and expect it to pull back financial support once a new job is obtained.
