Final 9 Days of SSAT Prep Plan

Is this a “good” study plan for the last 9 days I have of SSAT Prep Days? My test is on the 5th of January, I plan to take Christmas Eve and Christmas off, and I’ll be in Cancun from the 26-29. Since I won’t be able to have much WiFi on my trip, I’ll be finishing all essays due for applications over my 5 days off!

Dec. 21
-Take an official practice test
-Review the test

Dec. 22
-Go more in-depth over the verbal section review and learn more skills from the official practice from SSAT.org
-Brush up on a few math skills

Dec. 23
-Reading day; do a lot of reading skills, find better strategies to improve my score
-Take a sectional practice test for verbal

Dec. 30
-Take a full-length practice test
-Review the test

Dec. 31
-Go in-depth on verbal and math
-Take only the math practice test

Jan. 1
-Reading day, again, followed by a reading and verbal practice test

Jan. 2
-Full-length practice test
-Review the test
-Try and improve the reading section as much as possible

Jan. 3
-Finalize all strategies
-Finish up all lessons provided by SSAT.org in each section
-Take another reading practice section

Jan. 4
-Verbal practice test followed by math
-Check over all of my work
-Prepare for success the next day!

Please leave any notes you have! My goal score is above 2225, potentially 2250. I believe I can hit that score if I try hard enough.

Things I’m doing differently that I should’ve done for my last SSAT:

-Focused on the reading section a lot more
-Taken online versions of the test to help prep
-Bought the official SSAT practice stuff to help me understand the test from the creators
-Made a good schedule for my practice

I plan on notifying you all if I do good on my test, and maybe even for updates on my practicing!

The break of 5 days seems a bit long without any ssat study. Maybe you can consider rebalancing the essays throughout the 10 days while doing some study every day for the ssat.

I’m not going to completely just shut down all prep, I’m just not sure how much I can do those days.

If you’re taking at home test, just be prepared that the system may have glitches. So log in early on that day to the test. If there is problem, stay calm, call the technical support (so have your parents have those technical support phone number ready just in case). They will reset the test time so you won’t lose the test time. So don’t worry too much if a technical problem happens but hopefully you won’t experience that problem. Good luck!

Honestly, if you were my kid, I’d say stop 5 days before the test. One of the things that I think is essential in doing well is a state of mind. Having a clear mind and lots of sleep the night before will go far.

Haha I did have glitches on my last at-home test. Apparently PSI didn’t support the new mac update, Big-Sur. I had to grab my old laptop that barely works!

I wish you best of luck!
I am taking the SSAT tommorow and I have a feeling im gonna fail the reading section. But just remember the SSAT isnt the most important part of the application! Also, some schools dont even require the SSAT; Milton, ST. Paul, and more.

Ugh. We had the same problem. Had to switch to a laptop. Panic!
