@Notmommarose Thanks so much! D really loved Callback Weekend at Rutgers and is excited to study there!
@MomMimi Thank you!
@mom1819 Congrats on BU!
Fantastic, @love2share ! Welcome to the Mason Gross family! I am sure, given the exposure she had on her visit, that she’s made an informed decision. My D has only one more semester. Boy, it has gone FAST. Best to your family as you get started on this new adventure!
@letterhead Thank you so much! Would love to hear your D’s experience at Rutgers MGSA when you get the chance.

Congratulations @rebadee! UCSD is a great school and SD is a great place for Theater! Best wishes for a fabulous freshman year!
@rebadee Congrats on UCSD! They have a great theatre program and such a beautiful campus too!
I think I have already posted somewhere else - but here goes again. Originally my daughter thought she wanted MT, but after she submitted her applications she realized acting was her passion (and she’s not a dancer). If we were to go through the process again, we would have focused on acting and applied to only acting programs.

Training - Public High School shows, local youth theatre summer shows, voice lessons since 12 years old. Ithaca College summer program prior to senior year (expensive, but worth it - really preps them for auditions). My daughter hasn’t been in dance since she was 8. Parents that are new to this, if you’re considering MT, make sure they are dancing in high school! I wish I would’ve known this sooner. It was a lot of unnecessary audition anxiety, but it did work out in the end.
Final Decision - NYU. It was her top choice, but she would’ve been just as happy with Syracuse or Pace, as they were her top 3.
@xavierdog Congrats on NYU!
@xavierdog - so happy for your D! My daughter is just finishing up her freshman year at NYU, she has been working her buns off at Tisch and is beyond happy, it’s an amazing place. If you need any parental guidance
for freshman year send me or @dramamamaCC a PM.
@xavierdog - Congrats!! I’m another Tisch mom happy to answer questions - esp once studio placement comes out
Thank you @love2share @CaMom13 and @toowonderful. I’m going to have so many questions - anxiously awaiting studio placement! She’s hoping for the writing one, but I think she’ll be happy with whatever she gets.
@xavierdog - one of the great things about Tisch is the opportunity to try several studios. My D did 3… many of her friends did as well.
