Intended Major: Industrial Engineering (Also open to Mechanical)</p>

<p>GPA: 3.2 UW/ 3.5 W (scale gives 0 gpa boost to honors and .06 gpa boost for AP’s)</p>

<p>SAT: M 660, CR 680, W 630 = 1970 total
M+CR= 1340</p>

<p>Course load:
Honors Sophomore English, AP Junior English (5), AP Senior English
Honors Chemistry, AP Biology (3), AP Physics B
Honors Alegbra II, Honors Pre-Calculus, AP Statistics (5), AP Calculus AB (Self Study)
AP European History (4), AP US History (5), AP Economics (Micro and Macro)</p>

<p>EC’s: The typical sort of things-

  1. Over 100 hours of volunteering at the University Hostpital, particularly working with computers.
  2. Sunday School Leader currently, and member since '98
  3. Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Track and Field for freshman and sophomore year (had to quit do to back and feet injuries)
  4. Freshman Basketball team member (couldn’t continue because of the injuries)
  5. Member of JSA
  6. Received the highest rating of a 1 at the OMEA Solo and Ensemble Contest
  7. Kids Against Hunger Volunteer
  8. Religious Summer Camp counselor
  9. Here may be my unique EC, myself and some friends ran a small business where we bought and sold broken Ipods, sometimes we fixed parts of them</p>

<p>Awards: nothing too special

  1. National Junior Classical League- member
  2. Latin Honors Society- member
  3. National Society of High school Scholars - member
  4. Was selected to participate in a special program which allowed me to take an economics class at a local university over the summer
  5. National Computer Camp selection to learn C++ programming
  6. AP Scholar with Distinction </p>

<p>Hope to hear some feedback on my chances at these schools. Do I need some more safety or match schools?</p>

<p>My favorite schools of that list would definitely be GT and VT.
GT- amazing school, great campus, decent greek life if your into that, good enough sports and athletics and an awful 70-30 guy girl ratio (about the only bad part of the school)
VT- not quite as academically prestigious, but still 14th in the nation aint bad. Amazing campus, bigger, so youll get more diversity in your community. depends on what you want, Illinois is also a great school for what you want to do but I havent visited it, and its kind of in the middle of nowhere. I liked VT better, yes i wont have GT on my diploma, but i know plenty of people who got high paying jobs with an engineering degree from VT.

<p>Georgia Tech is ranked #1 in the nation for Industrial engineering. Also, you will have a great opportunity for co-op and interships programs. My friend’s brother who is an IE major will graduate with $30,000 in his pocket from co-op instead of having massive debts like you might at another college.</p>
