I am worried about the final report sent to whatever college my d chooses at the end of my Ds senior year. She has already been offered a large merit scholarship to a school high on her list (a top 100 LAC). However, this term she has a C in AP Biology and a C in Pre-Calculus that she likely will not be able to raise to Bs. She says she does not have senioritis, but I think this is the first time she has really had to study and she has not developed good time management or study skills.

If she goes to a school that offers her a merit scholarship, will she lose the scholarship when the school receives her end of year grades and sees 2 Cs? Do all schools request end of year grades?

Yes, all schools request final transcripts. And you must understand WHY it’s troubling to a good college if the student can barely handle AP level work.

Can answer the last question: yes, all colleges require a final transcript with grades (it proves you have finished high school). As to the scholarship that is something only the school can answer. There is also another risk. Schools can use and have used those final transcripts they get to decide to withdraw an admission. Two C’s may not cause it but she also has next semester to go.

amarkov, thank you for your kind reply, this is her 7th AP class, the rest she got all As in. I understand a college’s concerns about admitting students who can’t do the work, but barely handling AP level work? Gee, maybe she should find a good beauty school.
