Money is not an issue, and NYU was always my dream school. But I am wondering if NYU Shanghai is still prestigious in the sense that I would be able to get a job back in the states after. I am really lost, and any input would help. Thanks!

OP, no one can make this choice for you and I wouldn’t worry much about prestige. Do you want to study in Shanghai for four years? Have you looked at US career placement from NYU Shanghai, especially in your major? What are you thinking of majoring in at each school? Have you deposited at each or did you get off the waitlist at one?

I got off the waitlist at NYUSH when I made the post, but I came to the realization that chasing prestige with a degree would not be in my best interests, and career and life wise Purdue would be a better decision. Thank you so much!

If you were engineering or STEM, Purdue. Otherwise, NYU. NYU is strong in business and liberal arts, Purdue is much better in science and engineering.
