Finance vs. IT. Which is the best overall major?

I am currently a senior in high school and will graduate in a few month, but I have no interest in anything really. Due to this fact, I just want to go to college and find a job that is stable and will not induce crippling depression. I have narrowed my choices down to finance and IT. I have done a lot of research, but conflicting information has left me uncertain. Which has the best job prospects? Am I likely to be unemployed or underployment in either of these fields? Since I have no interest in either, I would also like to know which makes the most money. Please, help me. Thanks.

If you have no idea what you want to do then you shouldn’t worry too much quite yet. You will be taking general education courses for the first 1-2 years and that could help you figure out what you want to do!

On another thread, you love chem and bio, but here you’ve narrowed it down to finance and IT, yet you claim you have no interest in either.

What @philbegas said above.

I posted this for someone else. The science interest threads are me.

Sorry for the confusion. I should have just said I was posting for a someone else.

I think you should not commit to a major you first year in college. Use that time for exploration. You will be older and more time would have passed. It should be come clearer. The student change rate for majors is very high. Your odds of staying in the major you enter college in are low. No shame in starting as undecided. In fact, it is more mature.
