Are students with NO need for financial aid going to be given an unfair advantage in college admissions this year due to the credit mess in the US?

They’ve been getting an unfair advantage for years.

But aren’t need-blind schools really that regardless of the economy?

We’ll see how many stay need blind and how many will be giving 100% of need. Doesn’t help if a school is need blind for admissions but does not provide the aid needed. That is the way most schools in the US work. Also, all but the wealthiest schools may be throwing in some pretty serious loans in their packages. Which may be the only source of lending left for families as banks pull credit lines.
