I know that Financial Aid depends on how much money your parents make but does it also matter what school? Because I have been admitted UCM, UCR, UCSC and UCSB. Each one offer me different amount.

Would you mind posting your UCSB one? I “only” got 20k and I am a mother of two (father deceased) and only make $15/hour. I’ve always qualified for the Max of everything. Just want to see what types you receive. Or will you message it to me?

And also it should say on the bottom cost of attendance versus what you receive that is not a loan. Maybe you can compute each one and see if there is a correlation?

Yes it matters what school. Federal aid is very limited. Most other aid will come from the school itself and that will vary enormously from school to school. (some States also have generous aid for low income instate students).

OP: It would be more helpful if you broke down the exact packages you got and not just the total.

Even the UCs, though a part of the same school system, vary in what they will offer. It all depends on how much they have available to give you and are willing to give you.
