I looked at my financial aid statement estimate (I’m OOS). Even with the “gift,” the tuition is still wayyyy too high (like 40k net …).

I was wondering if these numbers are totally set or if they’re subject to change. Also, how can I tell what the gift aid is actually from?

It might get adjusted a little bit, but not by much. You probably got a scholarship from the general scholarship fund and that is why it’s not named.

I don’t quite remember what the financial aid letter looks like when you are admitted, but the more “official” financial aid letter will come as an “eFAN,” which is viewed online. It’s official in that you officially accept your aid, but it can still change and they will notify you when an updated eFAN is available. If I am remembering correctly, the letter you get with your admission isn’t quite perfect. I would expect it to be a bit different from your eFAN, but not that different. Their calculation of the Cost of Attendance varies as well because of the different types of housing, book costs, etc. But on the whole, the numbers are a good estimate.
